Nach einem super Auftakt 2012 gab es leider 2013 einige Rückschläge. So ist die einzigste Lokation Factory Magdeburg leider weggefallen. Hinzu kamen weitere Probleme, sodass es einfach ein Jahr ausgesetzt werden musste, um nun 2014 fortgesetzt zu werden – leider hat sich die Wartezeit nicht gelohnt, was ich aber nun näher erläutere.
Eine Sache muss man definitiv vorweg sagen. Tom XOR als Veranstalter hat sich riesen Gedanken um diese Veranstaltung gemacht. So viele Kilometer wie er an den beiden Abenden gerannt ist, und wie viel Stress er im Vorfeld hatte, ist es ihm definitiv nicht zu gönnen, dass das Festival so endete.
Die Bands an den beiden Abenden waren zwar nicht so namenhaft wie 2012, jedoch wurden sehr gute Bands eingeladen. Die Shows waren allesamt klasse, der Sound war brauchbar, die Lichtshow sah für das Auge super aus (Wenn gleich es dadurch schlecht fürs Fotografieren war =) ). Alle Bands waren stilistisch ähnlich, hatten aber alle ihre eigene Musik, die dem Publikum sehr gut gefallen hat. Im Grunde seht gute Voraussetzungen für ein gelungenes Festival.
Nun aber das große ABER. Größtes Manko war die Lokation. Es fand auf dem Clubgelände des Iron Cruse Motorvereins statt. Eine sehr große Halle mit einer schönen Bühne. Leider aber gelinde gesagt „am Arsch der Welt“. Das Hellfire wanderte vom gut erreichbaren Magdeburg nach Barleben. Zwar in Spuckreichweite von Magdeburg, dennoch sehr abgelegen war es sehr schwer mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln die Halle zu erreichen. Hier wurde vom Veranstalter ein Shuttleservice für extrem kleines Geld eingerichtet, welcher aber leider kaum angenommen wurde. Weiterer Nachteil der Halle war, dass sie dem plötzlichen Temperatureinbrüchen nicht gewachsen war. War die ganze Woche super Wetter, wurde es zum Wochenende hin plötzlich sehr kalt. Bei 6°C Außentemperatur war es in der Halle wirklich extrem halt und sehr zugig. Der Temperatursturz war so schnell, dass leider keine Heizpilze oder ähnliche Wärmespender organisiert werden konnten. Das schlug sich natürlich, leider, auf die allgemeine Stimmung aus.
Hinzu kam, wie eingangs erwähnt, dass eben zwar wirklich gute, aber unbekannte Bands spielen durften. Das Publikum in der Gegend ist leider neuem sehr verschlossen. Statt neuen Bands eine Chance zu geben, hat man im Vorfeld sehr oft zu hören bekommen „kenn' ich nich, geh ich nich hin“.
Resultat war, dass es ein totaler Flop war. Der Freitagabend war gähnende Leere, keine 30 Leute waren dort. Der zweite war war durch die weit bekannten Centhron besser besucht. Dennoch wurde nicht einmal die 100 Leute-Marke geknackt.
Alles in allen muss ich dem Veranstalter ein Lob aussprechen. Es gab zwar viele, viele Stolpersteine, die oft auch zum starken straucheln führten, aber Tom ging nie die Hoffnung verloren. Die Musik war klasse.
Deswegen wünsche ich Tom an dieser Stelle alles erdenklich Gute für das nächste Hellfire! Die Planungen haben bereits begonnen, jedoch auf jeden Fall in einer anderen Lokation, wenn nicht sogar in einer anderen Stadt (als Magdeburg/Umgebung).
