7 Bands, alle weitgehend unbekannt, treffen sich in einer Konzerthalle – Wie kommt es dazu? Newcomer Festivals gibt es bisher in allen Musikrichtungen, selten jedoch in der "Schwarzen Szene". Angefangen hatte es im Facebook. Hier konnten sich Bands ganz einfach per Voting "bewerben". Die 10 Bands mit den meisten Stimmen wurden zum Contest eingeladen. Der Gewinner darf das Hellfire Of Darkness eröffnen und die Bühne mit namenhaften Bands (Agonoize, Suizide Commando, Coinside) teilen. Leider gab es im Vorherrein einige kleine Problemchen. Ganze 3 Bands vielen aus. Grausamme Töchter, Platz 1 im Voting, mussten leider wegen Krankheit absagen, Chrome und Paranoid Android konnten aus anderen Gründen nicht. Auch das Festival selbst startete etwas verspätet. Zum Einlass war noch der Soundcheck in Gange, sodass die Zuschauer nicht in den Halle konnten und somit sogar auf dem Trockenem saßen. 2 Stunden nach dem Einlass ging es mit den Konzerten endlich los. Im Großem und Ganzem empfand ich die Stimmung eher als verhalten. Bei einzelnen Bands war mehr, bei einigen kaum etwas los. Meistens hörten sich die Leute den Anfang an, bildeten sich schnell eine Meinung und verschwanden zum Rauchen oder an die Bar. Die Meinungen bezüglich der Bands gingen natürlich deshalb weit auseinander. Zwar war das Grundthema klar: Dark-Electro-EBM die einzelnen Bands unterschieden sich aber deutlich. Ca 20 Minuten hatte jede Band sich zu präsentieren und das Publikum und die Jury zu überzeuge. Nach den Newcomern folgen 2 bekannte Acts, X In June und Empire In Dust verkürzten die Wartezeit auf die Auswertung. In dieser Zeit hatte jeder Zeit sein Kreuz für die beste Band zu setzen. Nebenbei wurde noch eine weitere Person aus dem Publikum gewählt, die eine volle Jurystimme bekam. Letztendlich gab 3 Jurystimmen plus dem Publikumsvoting. Gewinner, und somit opener Band vom Hellfire of Darkness wurden dann: Tiefenstadt aus Nürnberg. Weit gereißt- mit Erfolg. Am 26+27.8.2012 ist dann das große Event.
